I am a self-taught indie filmmaker with knowledge and experience in visual effects and CGI. Since my school life, I have been obsessed with cameras. I started editing videos that I shot with my action figures when I was eight. Filmmaking has been my escape from reality, a hobby that later turned into a dream. I never had an educational background in filmmaking due to the environment that I live in, but as seniors say, you will learn more on the first day on set than at a film school for years. I started venturing into the world of filmmaking and gaining knowledge.
At the age of 15, I began working as a freelance VFX artist in the industry, both locally and internationally. I worked on TV commercials, festival films, and music videos. Collaborating with senior directors, I continuously improved my skills with each project. Using my VFX expertise, I also directed short films in collaboration with individuals who shared my ambition. Our short films garnered up to 2 million views on the internet.
Realizing that teamwork is always a winning formula, I founded Yangon in Action, a local indie production powered by other ambitious artists like myself. Our focus is on creating larger short films that serve as proof of concept for potential future films or TV shows. Our ultimate goal is to produce content that will be accessible for everyone to enjoy.
Within Yangon in Action, I take on multiple responsibilities including producing, directing, and overseeing branding and marketing efforts.
